The Terror of the Day of Judgement

I take refuge with Allaah from the accursed devil.

May the Peace and Blessings of Allah Azza wa Jal, our Lord Glorified and Praised be He, be upon our beloved  Prophet, his Family, and Companions.
The Terror of the Day of Judgement.
(42. The Day when the Shin shall be laid bare and they shall be called to prostrate themselves, but they shall not be able to do so.)
 (43. Their eyes will be cast down and ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate themselves, while they were healthy and secure.)
 (44. Then leave Me alone with whoever denies this narration. We shall punish them gradually from directions they perceive not.)
(45. And I will grant them a respite. Verily, My plan is strong.)
 (46. Or is it that you ask them a wage, so that they are heavily burdened with debt)
 (47. Or that the Unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down)
Surah 68 Al Qalam Verse 42-47
Tafsir Ibn Kathir
After Allah mentions that those who have Taqwa, will have Gardens of Delight with their Lord, He explains when this will be, and its actual occurrence. He says,
(The Day when the Shin shall be laid bare and they shall be called to prostrate themselves, but they shall not be able to do so.) meaning, the Day of Judgement and the horrors, earthquakes, trials, tests and great matters that will occur during it. Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri said that he heard the Prophet saying,
(Our Lord will reveal His Shin, and every believing male and female will prostrate to Him. The only people who will remain standing are those who prostrated in the worldly life only to be seen and heard (showing off). This type of person will try to prostrate at that time, but his back will made to be one stiff plate (the bone will not bend or flex).)” This Hadith was recorded in the Two Sahihs and other books from different routes of transmission with various wordings. It is a long Hadith that is very popular. Concerning Allah’s statement,
(Their eyes will be cast down and ignominy will cover them;) means, in the final abode, due to their crimes and arrogance in the worldly life. Thus they will be punished with the opposite of what they did. When they were called to prostrate in the worldly life, they refused to do so even though they were healthy and secure. Therefore, they will be punished with the lack of ability to do so in the Hereafter. When the Almighty Lord makes Himself visible (before the believers), then the believers will fall down in prostration to Him, but no one of the disbelievers and hypocrites will be able to prostrate. rather, their backs will become one plate. Everytime one of them attempts to prostrate, he will bow his neck but will not be able to prostrate. This is just like in the life of this world, when these people were in opposition to what the believers were doing.
 For Whoever denies the Qur’an.
Then Allah says,
(Then leave Me alone with such as belie this narration.) meaning, the Qur’an. This is a sever threat which means, `leave Me alone with this person; I know about him and how I will gradually punish him and increase him in his falsehood. I am giving him respite for a while, then I will seize him with a mighty and powerful punishment.’ Thus, Allah says,
(We shall punish them gradually from directions they perceive not.) meaning, and they will not even be aware of it. Rather, they will believe that it is a noble blessing from Allah, but really the same matter is actually a form of humiliation (for them). This is similar to Allah’s statement,
(Do they think that in wealth and children with which We expand them, We hasten unto them with good things. Nay, but they perceive not.) (23:55,56) Allah also said,
(So, when they forgot that which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of everything, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We punished them, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.) Therefore, Allah says here,
(And I will grant them a respite. Verily, My plan is strong.) meaning, `I will delay them, give them respite and extend their time. Yet, this is My plan, and My plot against them.’ Thus, Allah says,
(Verily, My plan is strong.) meaning, `great against whoever opposes My command, rejects My Messengers and dares to disobey Me.’ In the Two Sahihs it is recorded from the Messenger of Allah that he said,
(Verily Allah the Exalted gives respite to the wrongdoer until He seizes him and he will not be able to escape Him.) Then he recited,
(Such is the punishment of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His punishment is painful (and) severe.) (11:102) In reference to Allah’s statement,
(Or is it that you ask them for a wage, so that they are heavily burdened with debt Or that the Unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down) the explanation of these two Ayat prece- ded in Surat At-Tur. The meaning of it is, `you, O Muhammad, call them to Allah without taking any wages from them. rather, you hope for the reward with Allah. Yet, they reject that which you have brought to them simply due to ignorance, disbelief and obstinacy.’

Characteristics of the Hypocrites and Their Destination

Characteristics of the Hypocrites and Their Destination.
(137. Verily, those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe (again), and (again) disbelieve, and go on increasing in disbelief; Allah will not forgive them, nor guide them on the (right) way.)
(138. Give to the hypocrites the tidings that there is for them a painful torment.)
 (139. Those who take disbelievers for friends instead of believers, do they seek honor with them Verily, then to Allah belongs all honor).
 (140. And it has already been revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in talk other than that; certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell.)
Surah 4 An Nisa Verse 137-140
Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Allah states that whoever embraces the faith, reverts from it, embraces it again, reverts from it and remains on disbelief and increases in it until death, then he will never have a chance to gain accepted repentance after death. Nor will Allah forgive him, or deliver him from his plight to the path of correct guidance. This is why Allah said,
(Allah will not forgive them, nor guide them on the (right) way). Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that his father said that Ahmad bin `Abdah related that Hafs bin Jami’ said that Samak said that `Ikrimah reported that Ibn `Abbas commented;
(and go on increasing in disbelief), “They remain on disbelief until they die.” Mujahid said similarly. Allah then said,
(Give to the hypocrites the tidings that there is for them a painful torment.) Hence, the hypocrites have this characteristic, for they believe, then disbelieve, and this is why their hearts become sealed. Allah describes the hypocrites as taking the disbelievers as friends instead of the believers, meaning they are the disbelievers’ supporters in reality, for they give them their loyalty and friendship in secret. They also say to disbelievers when they are alone with them, “We are with you, we only mock the believers by pretending to follow their religion.” Allah said, while chastising them for being friends with the disbelievers,
(do they seek honor, with them) Allah then states that honor, power and glory is for Him Alone without partners, and for those whom Allah grants such qualities to. Allah said,
(Whosoever desires honor, then to Allah belong all honor), and,
(But honor belongs to Allah, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not). The statement that honor is Allah’s Alone, is meant to encourage the servants to adhere to their servitude to Allah and to be among His faithful servants who will gain victory in this life and when the Witnesses stand up to testify on the Day of Resurection. Allah’s statement,
(And it has already been revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in talk other than that; certainly in that case you would be like them.) The Ayah means, if you still commit this prohibition after being aware of its prohibition, sitting with them where Allah’s Ayat are rejected, mocked at and denied, and you sanction such conduct, then you have participated with them in what they are doing. So Allah said,
((But if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them.) concerning the burden they will earn. What has already been revealed in the Book — as the Ayah says — is the Ayah in Surat Al-An`am (6), which was revealed in Makkah,
(And when you see those who engage in false conversation about Our verses (of the Qur’an) by mocking at them, stay away from them). Muqatil bin Hayyan said that this Ayah (4:1400 abrogated the Ayah in Surat Al-An`am, referring to the part that says here,
((But if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them), and Allah’s statement in Al-An`am,
(Those who fear Allah, keep their duty to Him and avoid evil, are not responsible for them (the disbelievers) in any case, but (their duty) is to remind them, that they may have Taqwa). Allah’s statement,
(Surely, Allah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell.) means, just as the hypocrites participate in the Kufr of disbelievers, Allah will join them all together to reside in the Fire for eternity, dwelling in torment, punishment, enchained, restrained and in drinking boiling water.

Those who wait and watch about you; if you gain a victory from Allah, they say: “Were we not with you” But if the disbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): “Did we not gain mastery over you and did we not protect you from the believers” Allah will judge between you (all) on the Day of Resurrection. And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.)
Surah 4 An Nisa Verse 141
Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Hypocrites Wait and Watch what Happens to Muslims.
Allah states that the hypocrites watch and await the harm that occurs to the believers, awaiting the time when the Muslim circumstances and religion are dissolved and the state of Kufr takes over.
(if you gain a victory from Allah) triumph, aid and booty,
(they say, “Were we not with you”) trying to come closer to the believers with this statement. However,
(But if the disbelievers gain a success,) by gaining victory over the believers sometimes, just as occurred during Uhud, for surely, the Messengers are tested, but the final victory is theirs.
(they say (to them), “Did we not gain mastery over you and did we not protect you from the believers”) meaning, did we not help you in secret and try our best to confuse the believers and weaken their resolve, until you gained victory over them This statement of the hypocrites is an attempt to strengthen relations with the disbelievers, because they pretend to be friends with both parties so that they will be safe from their harm, due to their weak faith and lack of certainty. Allah said,
(Allah will judge between you (all) on the Day of Resurrection) meaning, by what He knows about you, O hypocrites. Therefore, do not be deceived by being shaded under the protection of Islamic Law in this life, which is such only out of Allah’s wisdom. Surely, on the Day of Resurrection, your pretending shall not benefit you, because on that Day, the secrets of the souls will be disclosed and the contents of the hearts will be collected. Allah said,
(And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers). `Abdur-Razzaq recorded that Yasi` Al-Kindi said, “A man came to `Ali bin Abi Talib and said, `What about this Ayah,
(And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.) `Ali said, `Come closer, come closer. Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection, and He will not grant victory for the disbelievers over the believers.’ ” Ibn Jurayj recorded that `Ata’ Al-Khurasani said that Ibn `Abbas said that,
(And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.) “Will occur on the Day of Resurrection.” As-Suddi recorded that Abu Malik Al-Ashja`i said that it occurs on the Day of Resurrection. As-Suddi said that “way” means, proof. It is possible that the meaning of, `and never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers’, is in this life by being unable to exterminate the believers completely, although they sometimes gain victory over some Muslims. However, the Final Triumph will be for the believers in this life and the Hereafter. Allah said,
(Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe in the worldly life) This provides a rebuttal to the wishes of the hypocrites for the destruction of the believers, and their loyalty to the disbelievers, fearing for themselves if they are victorious. In another Ayah, Allah said,
(And you see those in whose hearts there is a disease (of hypocrisy), they hurry to their friendship), until,

Ruling on Musaajalah with Qur’aanic verses (i.e., where a person who has memorized Qur’aan is asked to quote a verse starting with the letter with which another verse ended)

What is the ruling on the musajalah of the Qura’anic verses in order to remember the verses and to fill the time with something of value? It is not meant by it to belittle Allah’s verses.

Praise be to Allaah.
There is nothing wrong with using means that help one to remember and properly memorize the Holy Qur’aan, such as competitions and testing those who have memorized it, and paying attention to verses that sound similar, rather these are things that are recommended (mustahabb), because they reinforce one’s memorization and help with it.
That includes what is called musaajalah, where a verse is recited to the hafiz then he is asked to recite a verse that starts with the letter with which the first verse ended.
And Allaah knows best.

Its the responsibility of every Moslem in learning quran and tajweed and we also have to teach our kids Quran and not only the Quran teaching we should let then be aware of the basic of Islam and why it was reviled you bet it was vilified and verity teaching of holy Quran and with tajweed quran we read Quran we can understand better all the replies that are postulated if we study koran from a qualified Quran tutor he will let you know verity center of Islam and why koran was reviled for it we should gain the information of the Book with there translation and the context of when those verses were reviled and why and that is only potential when we keep with not simply learning quran for beginners but gaining the information of Quran tafseer and one query that we all is required to ask our self that why we all are here in the world to do good acts or to do bad human activity to promote correct or to promote incorrect and will we be answerable to any one after this life of not then the query remains the very same that reasons why we are here in the world but if yes then whom we have to respond is there any Almighty All these reply can be found when we go deep in to the Quran education do Quran reading and the so let us link up hands to full fill our responsibility. We all must do quran memorization and listen to quran online when ever we have time to stay in touch

Commentary on the verse in which Allaah says: “Verily, Allaah will not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allaah)” [al-Ra’d 13:11]

What is the meaning of the words of Allaah, may He be blessed and exalted, in Soorat al-Ra’d (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily, Allaah will not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allaah)” [al-Ra’d 13:11]?.

Praise be to Allaah.
This is an important verse which indicates that Allaah, may He be blessed and exalted, in His perfect justice and wisdom does not change the condition of the people from good to bad or from bad to good, from ease to hardship or from hardship to ease, unless they change their condition themselves. So if they are in a state of righteousness and goodness and they change, Allaah will change things for them with punishment, calamities, hardship, drought, famine, disunity and other kinds of punishments as appropriate requital. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves” [Fussilat 41:46].
Or He may give them respite and give them time so that they might truen to the right path, but if they do not then they will be seized unexpectedly, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened for them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them (in punishment), and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows” [al-An’aam 6:44]., meaning despairing of all goodness -- we seek refuge in Allaah from the punishment and wrath of Allaah. Or they may be given respite until the Day of Resurrection, when their punishment will be more severe, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Consider not that Allaah is unaware of that which the Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrongdoers) do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror”[Ibraaheem 14:42], meaning that they are given respite until after death, and that will be a greater and more severe punishment.
Or they may be in a state of evil and sin, then they repent to Allaah and turn back to Him, and they regret their sins and adhere to obedience, so Allaah changes their state of wretchedness, hardship and poverty to ease, unity and righteousness because of their good deeds and their repentance to Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted. It says in another verse (interpretation of the meaning): “That is so because Allaah will never change a grace which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their ownselves” [al-Anfaal 8:53]. This verse tells us that if they are in a state of ease, comfort and goodness, then they change and turn to sin, their situation will be changed -- there is no power and no strength except with Allaah -- or they may be given respite, as stated above. The opposite is also true: if they were in a state of evil and sin, or disbelief and misguidance, then they repent, regret their sin and adhere to obedience to Allaah, Allaah will change their situation from bad to good; He will change their disunity into unity and harmony; He will change their hardship to ease, well being and plenty; He will change their situation from draught, famine, , lack of water and so on to rainfall, fertile land and other kinds of goodness. End quote.

Commentary on the meaning of the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And no moving (living) creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allaah” [Hood 11:6]

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And no moving (living) creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allaah” [Hood 11:6], which means that He has obliged Himself to feed everything that lives on this earth of humans, animals or insects and so on. How do we explain the famines that affect some countries in Africa and elsewhere?.

Praise be to Allaah.
The verse is to be understood according to its apparent meaning. The calamities and famines that Allaah decrees do not harm anyone but those whose lives have ended and whose provision has ceased. As for those who still have something left of their lives or provision, Allaah brings their provision to them by many ways, which they may know or may not know, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And whosoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).
3. And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine”
[al-Talaaq 65:2-3]
“And so many a moving (living) creature carries not its own provision! Allaah provides for it and for you”
[al-‘Ankaboot 29:60]
And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: “No soul will die until it has received its provision in full and completed its allotted  lifespan.”
A person may be punished with poverty and deprivation of provision because of his actions such as laziness and failing to seek means of provision that he is able to do, or because of his committing sins that Allaah has forbidden, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allaah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself”
[al-Nisa’ 4:79]
“And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much”
[al-Shoora 42:30]
And it is narrated in a saheeh report that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: “A person may be deprived of provision because of a sin that he commits.” Narrated by Imam Ahmad, al-Nasaa’i and Ibn Maajah with a jayyid isnaad.
A person may be tested with poverty, sickness and other calamities so as to test his gratitude and patience, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As‑ Saabiroon (the patient).
156. Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: ‘Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return’”
[al-Baqarah 2:155-156]
“And We tried them with good (blessings) and evil (calamities) in order that they might turn (to Allaah’s Obedience)”
[al-A’raaf 7:168]
What is meant by good in this verse is blessings, and what is meant by evil is calamities. And the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: “How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If harm befalls him, he is patient and that is good for him, and if something good happens to him he is grateful and that is good for him, and this is not for anyone except the believer.” Narrated by Imam Muslim in his Saheeh.
And there are many similar verses and hadeeths. And Allaah is the source of strength. End quote.

Belief of the Salaf concerning the Holy Qur’aan

We would like to know what the Salaf believed concerning the Holy Qur’aan.

Praise be to Allaah.
The belief of the Salaf concerning the Holy Qur’aan is like their belief in all the names and attributes of Allah, which is a belief that is based on what is indicated by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). We all know that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, has described the Holy Qur’aan as being His Word and that it was sent down from Him. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And if anyone of the Mushrikoon (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) seeks your protection then grant him protection, so that he may hear the Word of Allah (the Qur’aan), and then escort him to where he can be secure”
[at-Tawbah 9:6].
Undoubtedly what is meant by the Word of Allah here is the Holy Qur’aan.
And He, may He be exalted, says:
“Verily, this Qur’aan narrates to the Children of Israel most of that about which they differ”
[an-Naml 27:76].
So the Qur’aan is the Word of Allah in both wording and meaning. Allah spoke it in a real sense and gave it to Jibreel the trustworthy, then Jibreel brought it down to the heart of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), so that he might be one of the warners, in a plain Arabic tongue.
The Salaf believe that the Qur’aan was revealed; Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, revealed it to Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) piecemeal, i.e., bit by bit, over twenty-three years, in accordance with the wisdom of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted.
Moreover, some of the revelation was revealed for a specific reason for which it was sent down, and some of it was revealed without a specific reason. And some of it was revealed to tell of something that happened to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his companions. Some of it was revealed concerning shar‘i rulings, according to what the scholars have said concerning this matter.
Then the Salaf say that the Qur’aan is from Allah in the first place and it will return (to Him) at the end of time. This is the view of the Salaf concerning the Holy Qur’aan.
It is clear to us that Allah has described the Holy Qur’aan in superlative terms. He has described it as wise (hakeem), noble (kareem), great (‘azeem), and glorious (majeed). These qualities, in terms of which Allah has described His Book, may be attainable by one who adheres to this Book and acts upon it both inwardly and outwardly. Allah will give him some share of glory, greatness, wisdom, honour and authority that is not given to the one who does not adhere to the Book of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted. Hence I call all Muslims, rulers and ruled, scholars and ordinary folk, to adhere to the Book of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, both inwardly and outwardly, so that they may attain honour, happiness and glory, and prevail in the east and in the west. End quote.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him).
